Iranian cinema must follow modern standards to break into world market: Farabi director
Speaking at a one-day seminar on the technology of digital filming and HDcam held on Wednesday in Tehran at the Film Museum of Iran, he noted that the problem will only be solved through the development of cinema that is up to modern standards.
Pointing to Iranian cinema’s need for new experiences and new technology, Rezadad said, “Our cinema is not too poor to ignore the new changes, and it is not enough rich to spend on certain new technologies.
“The issue of digital cinema and HDcam is an issue of modern cinema, so the development of Iranian cinema is essential. The Farabi Foundation welcomes any new proposals of various unions.”
Participant Paul Wheeler, a senior drama film cameraman who was trained at BBC, discussed the technology of HD at the workshop.
Several cinematic figures such as Kiumars Pur-Ahmad, Dariush Farhang, Gholamreza Musavi, Farhad Saba, and Mohammad Bozorgnia were also among distinguished participants.
